Network MPEG Video Distribution System

چکیده
OVERVIEW: A camera system is developed for delivering real-time video streams over corporate intranets, the Internet, and other networks. The system encompasses TCP/IP-compliant cameras that can be directly connected to networks, representative application software for the PC side, application-specific APIs, and an environment enabling customers to customize application software. The application software permits the video feed from any designated camera on the system to be monitored from a PC. Wide-ranging controls can be effected from the PC including switching between cameras, camera controls (pan, tilt, zoom), and the amount of video data can be adjusted. Takuya Ima-ide, D. Eng. A Method to Reduce Effects of Packet Loss in Video Streaming Using Multiple Description Coding
Multiple description (MD) coding has evolved as a promising technique for promoting error resiliency of multimedia system in real-time application programs over error-prone communicational channels. Although multiple description lattice vector quantization (MDCLVQ) is an efficient method for transmitting reliable data in the context of potential error channels, this method doesn’t consider disc...
متن کاملA New Unequal Error Protection Technique Based on the Mutual Information of the MPEG-4 Video Frames over Wireless Networks
The performance of video transmission over wireless channels is limited by the channel noise. Thus many error resilience tools have been incorporated into the MPEG-4 video compression method. In addition to these tools, the unequal error protection (UEP) technique has been proposed to protect the different parts in an MPEG-4 video packet with different channel coding rates based on the rate...
متن کاملMPEG System Streams in Best-Effort Networks
The MPEG format is widely used and therefore an attractive vehicle for the distribution of video and audio material over the Internet. However, the hierarchical structure of MPEG systems complicates the task of delivering continuous, synchronized streams of video and audio in a best-effort environment (today’s Internet). If the network throws away packets on encountering congestion, the video a...
متن کاملMPEG video traffic on a MetaRing network: complexity reduction of a 'worst-case' model for bandwidth allocation analysis
This paper deals with the problem of selecting the optimal bandwidth allocation scheme for MPEG video transport on a MetaRing network. The problem is addressed by analyzing a simplified “worst case” network model faded by an MPEG video traffic model which only captures short range correlations. To assess to what extent the video traffic model still provides useful information, a methodology bas...
متن کاملMultiserver Queue with Semi-Markovian Batch Arrivals with Application to the MPEG Frame Sequence
We consider a queueing system consisting of multiple identical servers and a common queue. The service time follows an exponential distribution and the arrival process is governed by a semi-Markov process (SMP). The motivation to study the queueing system with SMP arrivals lies in that it can model the auto-correlated traffic on the high speed network generated by a real time communication, for...
متن کاملAdaptive Streaming of MPEG-based Audio/Video Content over Wireless Networks
This paper describes a method for robust streaming of combined MPEG audio/video content (encoded either with MPEG-2 or MPEG-4/H.264) over in-home wireless networks. We make use of currently used content distribution format (MPEG Transport Stream) and network protocols (either RTP or TCP/HTTP). The transmitted bit-rate is constantly adapted to the available network bandwidth, such that audio and...
